Lyons & Hohl Celebrates Community Spirit at the New Holland Farmers Fair Parade

Last week, Lyons & Hohl proudly participated in the Spectacle of Bands Parade at the New Holland Farmers Fair, a treasured event that has been a cornerstone of the community for over 75 years. The fair, which began in 1927, transforms New Holland into a hub of festivities, from agricultural displays to family entertainment, with the parade serving as the official kick-off. Thousands of spectators gathered along the two-mile route, celebrating local businesses, schools, and organizations that make our community special.

For Lyons & Hohl, this year’s parade marked our largest participation yet, as 25 people, including employees and their family members, represented the company with pride. We brought three trucks to the event, showcasing our equipment and commitment to the community in a fun and engaging way.

At the front of our lineup was Kyle S. driving our flatbed rollback truck. He carried a small toy excavator and a pool filled with small stones, where the younger kids on the float had a great time digging and playing. This interactive setup was a hit with the crowd, especially the children, as it gave them a glimpse of what our team works with every day.

Aaron E. and his family followed in our 1987 Mack Superliner, which pulled some of our paving equipment: a brand-new Weiler paver and a CAT roller. Aaron's skill behind the wheel and his family’s participation added a personal touch to our parade presence, representing the strong family and community values we uphold at Lyons & Hohl.

Bringing up the rear was Dave J. in his Mack TriAxle, rounding out our impressive lineup with smooth precision. The drivers did a fantastic job navigating the parade route and managing the tight spaces during staging and parking, ensuring everything went off without a hitch. A special thank you to Bekkah and Tyler, who provided excellent food for everyone involved, keeping the team energized and ready to go.

The Spectacle of Bands Parade is more than just an opportunity to showcase our trucks and equipment; it’s a reminder of the strong ties we have with the community we serve. Participating in events like this allows us to give back and connect with our neighbors on a more personal level. It was especially rewarding to see the joy on the faces of both kids and adults as they watched the parade, and we were thrilled to contribute to the fun and excitement of the night.

As we reflect on this year’s parade, we’re already looking ahead to next year. We plan to continue growing our involvement and bringing even more to the table for this wonderful tradition. For now, we’re grateful for the support from our community and the hard work of everyone who made this year’s participation a success. We can’t wait to do it all over again next year.
